What "specialty materials" actually means here
Chipmaking runs on a long list of gases, slurries, and chemical solutions, and every one of them has to be filtered to remove particles smaller than the transistor being printed. Entegris makes the filters, membranes, and handling systems that do that job, plus the specialty materials that go into the process chemistries themselves. None of it appears in a finished chip's spec sheet, but without it the chip doesn't come out of the fab at a usable yield.
